Understood simply, Eucharistic Adoration is “adoring or honoring the Eucharistic Presence of Christ truly present before us."
At Mary of the Visitation, Eucharistic Adoration takes place at the Becker location every Monday from 5 am to midnight. Every hour throughout the Monday there is at least one person praying in the church before the Blessed Sacrament. At the Big Lake location, Eucharistic Adoration takes place on the first Friday of the month for one hour after the 8 am Mass. Following are some quotes and comments regarding this time of prayer.
Comments from Pope Saint John Paul II “The Church and the world have a great need of Eucharistic worship.” A visit to the Blessed Sacrament is a Great Treasure of the Church: (an excerpt)- by Pope John Paul II. Jesus waits for us in this sacrament of love. Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in
adoration. Notice how the Holy Father is asking you to be generous with your time. He is not asking for your money but something much more precious…time.
Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta once said, “When you look at the Crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the Sacred Host you understand how much Jesus loves you now.”
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament comes easily. Never feel worried if you find you have no thoughts at all while you are before the Blessed Sacrament. The all important factor is that you are before the Lord. Before Him who knows you better than you know yourself. He sees your innermost thoughts and He still loves you immensely.
