Parish Renewal

Speaker Event
Tom Delaney is a Secular Franciscan in the St. Cloud Diocese who focuses on how communities can help people grow from what is possible for their well-being to what is happening in their well-being with God's plan of goodness (Catechism 1). He will share with us: how transitions are a good and natural part of growth for both people and communities; how to get the best out of transitions by trusting in and working with God's plan; and good ways that a person can care for themself and their community during times of transition and growth. Tom is a series author in the "Everyday Discipleship" section of Central Minnesota Catholic magazine, and his current work with peace and reconciliation scholars in Palestine has been featured as well. Tom serves on the Mental Health Ministry Team for the diocese and has served on several state mental health advisory councils and committees. He was a highlighted speaker at this year's Catholic Men's Conference on well-being and Catholic life and is active in Harvard University's Human Flourishing Network and Forgiveness Community of Practice. He has a master's degree in theology with a concentration in spirituality from St. Catherine University, a certificate in catechesis from St. Paul Seminary, a certificate in forgiveness education and group facilitation from Harvard University, and a master's degree and education specialist certificate in educational psychology from the University of Minnesota.
Faith Handed Down
We invite you, as a member of the MOTV parish family, to share memories, stories, and reflections honoring the legacy of the Big Lake church building as it prepares to close. Through collected writings, photos, and testimonies, the project seeks to preserve the parish’s lived faith and carry its spirit forward beyond the building itself.
On May 21 & May 24, we’ll gather for special moments of storytelling and remembrance. Until then—and anytime along the way—you may share your memories in whichever way feels easiest:
- Online, click here
- Email: faithhandeddownmotv@gmail.com
- Write on memory cards, they can be found at each location
- Through letters, typed or handwritten, that can be dropped off
